Czech delegation visited Akmola region
Minister of Agriculture Marek Vyborny and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Kazakhstan Pavol Shepelyak arrived in Akmola region on an official visit today, the press service of the Akimat of the region reports.
The visit began with a bilateral meeting of the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic with Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov.
The sides discussed the prospects of cooperation in the fields of agriculture, industrial cooperation, tourism, expressing interest in the development of economic and trade ties.
Further, the Czech delegation took part in the Kazakh-Czech Business Forum with the participation of representatives of government agencies, national companies and business circles of Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.
The international meeting is aimed at strengthening economic, trade and diplomatic relations between the countries.
The forum was attended by more than 120 representatives of the Czech and Kazakh business. The organizers were the Akimat of Akmola region, JSC National Company "Kazakh Invest JSC" and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Astana.
Opening the event, Marat Akhmetzhanov noted, that favorable investment conditions have been created in the Akmola region. Promising areas of cooperation are agriculture, mechanical engineering and tourism.
"We consider the Czech Republic as one of the important political and economic partners of our country in the international arena. In the Message to the People of Kazakhstan The Head of State noted that a new stage of the new economic policy of the state is underway - decentralization, that is, the independence of the regions, therefore, the investment attractiveness of the region is extremely important to us today, so that jobs are created here and business develops. In turn, the Minister of Agriculture Marek Vyborny noted that the Czech Republic is known for its modern technologies in animal husbandry and crop production, as well as significant experience in the development of agriculture.
"The development of mutual cooperation in the agricultural sector is crucial for the future of our countries. I am convinced, that today's business forum will bring concrete initiatives and will contribute to a deeper understanding of business entities, as well as the development of joint projects and trade activities," Marek Vyborny said.
Following the results of the forum, meetings were held in the format b2b in the areas of investment, agriculture, veterinary medicine, food industry, insurance and trade.
By the way, the external trade turnover between the Akmola region and the Czech Republic in January-August 2023 amounted to more than 17 million US dollars.
