Industry
The volume of industrial production in 2018 amounted to 268.5 million tenge, which is 0.2% higher than the 2017 level. The industry of the region employs 12.3% of the total employed population of the region. The industrial complex of the region, which accounts for about 21% of the gross regional product, is represented mainly by enterprises of the mining industry, mechanical engineering, non-ferrous metallurgy, the chemical and food industries, the construction industry.
79.7% of industrial production in the region is in the processing industry. The share of the mining industry was 12.1%, power supply - 6.9% and water supply - 1.2%.
In the mining industry, represented mainly by gold mining companies, in 2018 products worth 32.5 million tenge were produced. The physical volume index was 105%, the growth was associated with an increase in the extraction of gold ore (7.7%) and iron ore (17.2%).
Manufacturing enterprises produced products worth 214.2 million tenge, which is 29% more compared to the same period in 2017.

Akmola region is one of the main agricultural regions of Kazakhstan, 38% of the working population of the region are employed here. The region's share in the gross agricultural output of the republic is on average about 10%. The region plays the role of the food belt of the city of Astana.
The gross agricultural output in 2018 amounted to 397 billion tenge, including crop production - 259 billion tenge, livestock products 137 billion tenge. The volume index was 101.7%.
The share of gross output of agriculture in the region was 9.88% in the total gross volume of the country's agro-industrial complex.

The enterprises of the metallurgical industry produced products in the amount of 95.9 billion tenge. The IFV amounted to 104%, an increase in the production of untreated and semi-processed gold by 26.1% is observed, which is associated with the activities of Altyntau Kokshetau JSC.
In the production of food products produced in the amount of 36.2 billion tenge. IPV amounted to 109.9%. Compared with 2017, the production of meat and by-products increased (in natural terms) by 21.9%, vegetable oil 2 times, flour - by 22.1%.
During this period, in the engineering industry, including in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, products worth 24.8 billion tenge were produced. In engineering (114% IFO), the leading enterprises are EPK Stepnogorsk JSC (bearing production for railway rolling stock), KAMAZ-Engineering JSC (KAMAZ truck assembly), Atbasar Electric Locomotive Plant, a branch of Kamkor-Lokomotiv LLP (overhaul electric locomotives).
Growth was observed at the enterprise of EPK Stepnogorsk JSC, where the bearing volume was about 12 thousand tons (an increase of 1.2 times compared to the level of 2017).
A reduction was made by the branch of AERZ LLP Kamkor-Lokomotiv - by 3.2%. KZ "Vector" LLP assembled 153 combines (for the same period in 2015 - 222 units). KAMAZ-Engineering JSC assembled 604 trucks, or 83.8% of the 2017 level.
In the chemical and related industries produced products worth 11.9 billion tenge. In the chemical industry (IFO 109.3%), the production of ethyl alcohol decreased by 13.9%, pesticides by 14.6%. Sulfuric acid production amounted to 136.7 thousand tons, with a 3.4-fold increase compared to the 2015 level. The processing volume of chemical concentrate of natural uranium by SGHK LLP was 2.4 thousand tons (an increase of 20.7%).
In the production of non-metallic mineral products (brick, mortar, prefabricated concrete structures, etc.) products worth 12.9 billion tenge were produced. Ifo made up 126.7%, the production of mortar increased by 7.9 times, concrete concrete by 58.7%, and ceramic brick by 3%.
