The population of Akmola region as of October 1, 2024 was 788.4 thousand people, including 449.6 thousand people (57%) - urban, 338.8 thousand people (43%) - rural residents.
The average monthly nominal wage accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activity) in the third quarter of 2024 amounted to $ 625,658, an increase compared to the third quarter of 2023 was 12.5%.
Currently, there are four higher education institutions in Akmola region, two of which are state-owned.
Kokshetau University named after Abai Myrzakhmetov was organized in 2000 in accordance with the requirements of new socio-economic processes and reforms taking place in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
