The population of Akmola region as of May 1, 2025 was 787.7 thousand people, including 452.7 thousand people (57.5%) - urban, and 335.0 thousand people (42.5%) - rural residents.
The average monthly nominal wage accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activity) in the first quarter of 2025 was 343471 tenge, which is 9.6% more than in the first quarter of 2024. The real wage index for this period was 98.9%.
Currently, there are four higher education institutions in Akmola region, two of which are state-owned.
Kokshetau University named after Abai Myrzakhmetov was organized in 2000 in accordance with the requirements of new socio-economic processes and reforms taking place in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
